Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a conservative procedure used to improve the aesthetic appearance of the teeth and enhance the smile. Bonding can change the size, the shape and the colour of the teeth or replace any old fillings and make them blend in better.

  • Chips and cracks on the tooth surface can be fixed with composite bonding.
  • Gaps and spaces can be closed with composite.
  • Worn teeth can benefit from composite bonding- by making the teeth slightly longer we can make the smile appear more youthful.

In most composite bonding cases, patients do not require local anaesthetic as the procedure is painless. This is because we are simply adding material to the enamel rather than removing any tooth tissue.

It is possible to construct a smile mock-up before committing to composite bonding. We add some composite to the surfaces and show you the result. Then the composite is safely removed and the teeth go back to their initial shapes and sizes, but you get an image of the possibility to have a completely new smile.
